Cape Breton Island
Cape Breton Island is located in most northern end of Nova Scotia, Canada.
There is a roadway that encircles the whole Island for hundreds of miles passing rugged coastline and picturesque landscape called the Cabot Trail. The long 5-6 hour drive bypasses the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Ingonish. Close to one-third of the Cabot Trail passes right through the Highlands National Park which features dozens of look-offs that you can stop and take breathtaking pictures.
Stop at places like the Skyline Trail footpath that overlooks the cliffs of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Skyline Trail is a 7 km hiking trail that lies on the western side of the Cabot Trail, near French Mountain in Cape Breton. Known for migratory whales and the magnificent ocean-side view, thousands of visitors come to the Skyline Trail each year to take in the beauty.
Drive to the Sydney Nova Scotia waterfront to see the Giant Fiddle (Big Fiddle) that plays Celtic Music year ’round to the many visitors who pass by.
